What are EMDR Intensives?

Every part of you and your story deserves to be seen and healed.

Have you tried therapy and sense there’s deeper work to do? Or perhaps a therapy hour only gets you so far, then your time is up. Maybe weekly therapy is very helpful and you’re looking for adjunct work to support further growth. The meaningful healing you seek doesn’t have to wait.

Just like EMDR is a different approach to therapy, EMDR Intensives are a different approach to providing EMDR. Jenni is offering half day EMDR intensives, in person and online.

The EMDR intensive model offered entails 2 to 4-hour long sessions over the course of 1 – 2 times per month. Rather than opening up and closing down each week, you can often work through your goals intensively and fast track the healing and growth you are seeking.

Benefits of Intensive Work

  • Process more information in a shorter amount of time: Dedicate days versus weeks, months or even years to focus on your healing and growth.
  • Cost effective: Intensives are highly concentrated and focused, sometimes requiring less time and overall cost to reach your desired outcomes.
  • No more weekly appointments: Lighten up your schedule, stop scheduling your weeks around therapy sessions.
  • Less waiting: schedule your screening, intake and intensive in a timely manner rather than sitting on wait lists.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a typical half day intensive look like?

Intensive days can begin in the morning or early afternoon, at 9 am or 1pm. We take breaks during our time together as needed for snacks, movement, and taking care of yourself.

Where do the intensives take place?

Online/Virtually: Folks seeking intensive work that reside in Maine or New Hampshire can engage in intensive work online via a secure Teletherapy platform. In Person: anyone is welcome to travel to New Hampshire to meet at Jenni’s office.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

If something comes up and you are unable to attend your intensive, please contact me as soon as possible to discuss rescheduling. Rescheduling within two weeks of your intensive will not affect your deposit or payment. If you need to cancel your intensive entirely, this will result in loss of the deposit already paid.

How much time do I need to schedule?

It depends! During your intake assessment, we will discuss what you would like to work on and your desired outcomes. At that time you and I will make a determination regarding how much time will be needed.

How much will it cost?

When we commit to intensive work together, I am reserving up to half a day to work with you. I charge $200 for a 90 minute intensive assessment intake, a necessary part of preparing for intensive work, that may be reimbursable by insurance. For the intensive appointment, I charge an hourly rate of $160. A 50% nonrefundable deposit will be required to confirm your intensive reservation, and the remaining 50% is due the day of the intensive. Please note: I only accept checks or cash as payment for intensives. Most insurances do not cover intensive therapies, but do check with your plan. In some cases you may be able to submit for out-of-network coverage for the first hour of therapy. If I am credentialed with your insurance provider, I will bill and accept the contracted rate for our first hour of work together. After that, my standard hourly rates will apply.
